Best known for the character of Arthur Daley, in Minder.
Alastair Sim and his wife Naomi became "parents" to him, looking after his mother also.
Was in the RAF from 1944 - 1947
1976 BBC Radio 4, presented an "Appreciation of Alistair Sim"
In 1983 he sang with Dennis Waterman, "What Are We Gonna Get
'Er Indoors?", which reached the number 21 position on the pop charts.
Was seen in advertisements for the Leeds Permanent Building Society
"Laughing all the way to The Leeds".
He was awarded the O.B.E. for his services to
drama.
